Tips for Studying Your Bible

As you read through the passage that you are currently reading, make sure to ask yourself two questions.

1.      What does the passage say?

2.      What does the passage say to me?

Then, as you read, take different colored markers, highlighters or colored pencils and re-read the same passage marking commands to obey, promises to claim, conditions of the promises and warnings to heed.  After that, take a ruler and a black liner pen and underline the verse that means the most to you, making notes in the margin answering the question, “What does it say to me?”  Then pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help you apply what you learned.
