Sophie was a good Christian teenager, the dearly loved daughter of decent, hard-working parents. For eight years, Sophie struggled to conceal her self-harm from her parents and friends, to reconcile her compulsions with her faith, to develop a stronger sense of self-worth, and to find healing. Slowly, Sophie learned to identify the triggers and to realize that Jesus does not reject the self-harmer. Today Sophie works with teenagers and continues to gain insight into how this all-too-common problem can be tackled.
