Dvorak: Complete Piano Works I

This series of four volumes encompasses every complete original work for solo piano by Antonin Dvorak (1841-1904). Dvorak is remembered for making the music of Bohemian (Czech) composers known outside of the region, and for using characteristically national rhythms and other elements in his works. The order of the works in this edition corresponds to the chronological order in which they were composed. Volume I contains works from 1876-1879, opuses 8, 28, 35, 36, 41, and 42. This Urtext draws from the autograph or first editions where available, and refrains from including those scores which were invalidated in any way by the composer whether through deletions in the autograph or through substantial changes in the first edition.
