A strong, and imaginative collection of stories that contains something for everyone and gives the reader a sense of the richness and beauty of everyday living
God Must Be Laughing is a collection of short stories based on entries in my writer's journal. I keep a record of people I meet, daily activities and trips I've taken. Three of the stories are from my journal entries while in England and Italy. Some of the stories are based on real life events.
Two of the stories won first place in writing contests, My Favorite Housekeeper from the Tall Tales Contest and Another Mary from the Author's Venue Contest. One story deals with the slaughter of the innocents at the birth of Christ. Another concerns a student and a teacher who are both afraid of heights. The range and spirit of these stories is as wide as life itself, from the humor in The Wedding, to the wisdom in God Must Be Laughing and the Shivaree, to the emotion and drama of Another Mary, Madonna on The Rooftop and The Vigil. The stories in God Must Be Laughing provide and entertaining cross section of memorable human experience common to all of us.
