Chapter One
Worship Him
Give unto the Lord, O you mighty ones,
Give unto the Lord glory and strength.
Give unto the Lord the glory due to
His name;
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
Psalm 29:1-2
Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture,
And the sheep of His hand.
Today, if you will hear His voice.
Psalm 95:6-7
The hour is coming, and now is, when the
true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit
and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship
Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship
Him must worship in spirit and truth.
John 4:23-24
Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of
holiness!
Tremble before Him, all the earth.
Psalm 96:9
Then you will call upon Me and go and pray
to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek
Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all
your heart.
Jeremiah 29:12-13
Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!
Remember His marvelous works which
He has done,
His wonders, and the judgments of
His mouth.
1 Chronicles 16:11-12
Blessed are those who keep His testimonies,
Who seek Him with the whole heart!
With my whole heart I have sought You;
Oh, let me not wander from Your
commandments!
Psalm 119:2, 10
Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow
and fatness,
And my mouth shall praise You with
joyful lips.
Psalm 63:4-5
Obey Him
But be doers of the word, and not hearers
only, deceiving yourselves.
James 1:22
If you love Me, keep My commandments.
John 14:15
Peter and the other apostles answered and
said: "We ought to obey God rather than men."
Acts 5:29
Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings
and does them, I will show you whom he is like:
He is like a man building a house, who dug deep
and laid the foundation on the rock. And when
the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently
against that house, and could not shake it, for it
was founded on the rock. But he who heard and
did nothing is like a man who built a house on the
earth without a foundation, against which the
stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell.
And the ruin of that house was great.
Luke 6:47-49
He who is faithful in what is least is faithful
also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least
is unjust also in much.
Luke 16:10
We have had human fathers who corrected us,
and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more
readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and
live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as
seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that
we may be partakers of His holiness.
Hebrews 12:9-10
The world is passing away, and the lust of it;
but he who does the will of God abides forever.
1 John 2:17
Now the just shall live by faith;
But if anyone draws back,
My soul has no pleasure in him.
Hebrews 10:38
Come to Him in Prayer
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of
grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to
help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
Evening and morning and at noon
I will pray, and cry aloud,
And He shall hear my voice.
Psalm 55:17
Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer;
And attend to the voice of my supplications.
In the day of my trouble I will call upon You,
For You will answer me.
Psalm 86:6-7
For the eyes of the Lord are on the
righteous,
And His ears are open to their prayers;
But the face of the LORD is against those
who do evil.
1 Peter 3:12
Then He spoke a parable to them, that men
always ought to pray and not lose heart.
Luke 18:1
When you pray, you shall not be like the
hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the
synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that
they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you,
they have their reward. But you, when you pray,
go into your room, and when you have shut your
door, pray to your Father who is in the secret
place; and your Father who sees in secret will
reward you openly.
Matthew 6:5-6
You will make your prayer to Him,
He will hear you,
And you will pay your vows.
You will also declare a thing,
And it will be established for you;
So light will shine on your ways.
Job 22:27-28
Let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for
he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and
tossed by the wind.
James 1:6
Listen to the Holy Spirit
For what man knows the things of a man
except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even
so no one knows the things of God except the
Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the
spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from
God, that we might know the things that have
been freely given to us by God.
These things we also speak, not in words
which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy
Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with
spiritual.
1 Corinthians 2:11-13
For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that
very hour what you ought to say.
Luke 12:12
Speaking the truth in love, may grow up in
all things into Him who is the headChristfrom
whom the whole body, joined and knit
together by what every joint supplies, according to
the effective working by which every part does its
share, causes growth of the body for the edifying
of itself in love.
Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by
whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Ephesians 4:15-16, 30
You, beloved, building yourselves up on
your most holy faith, praying in the Holy
Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking
for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto
eternal life.
Jude 20-21
Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to
your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go
away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I
depart, I will send Him to you. And when He
has come, He will convict the world of sin, and
of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin,
because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness,
because I go to My Father and you
see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler
of this world is judged.
I still have many things to say to you, but
you cannot bear them now.
John 16:7-12
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of
Scripture is of any private interpretation, for
prophecy never came by the will of man, but
holy men of God spoke as they were moved by
the Holy Spirit.
2 Peter 1:20-21
If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from
the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from
the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies
through His Spirit who dwells in you.
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our
spirit that we are children of God, and if children,
then heirsheirs of God and joint heirs with
Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may
also be glorified together.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present
time are not worthy to be compared with the
glory which shall be revealed in us.
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.
For we do not know what we should pray
for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes
intercession for us with groanings which cannot
be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts
knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He
makes intercession for the saints according to the
will of God.
Romans 8:11, 16-18, 26-27
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the
Father will send in My name, He will teach you all
things, and bring to your remembrance all things
that I said to you.
John 14:26
Being assembled together with them, He
commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem,
but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which,"
He said, "you have heard from Me; for John truly
baptized with water, but you shall be baptized
with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."
And He said to them, "It is not for you to
know times or seasons which the Father has put in
His own authority. But you shall receive power
when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you
shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all
Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
Acts 1:4-5, 7-8
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to
think of anything as being from ourselves, but our
sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient
as ministers of the new covenant, not of the
letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the
Spirit gives life.
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the
Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all,
with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the
glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the
same image from glory to glory, just as by the
Spirit of the Lord.
