Alabaster Box Is…
Alabaster Box are a 6-piece, female led rock/pop band from Australia’s Gold Coast. The band put aside their ‘real jobs’ and became a full-time music ministry at the beginning of 2006. Since then, Alabaster Box has won numerous awards, delivered hit singles to Australian Christian Radio and toured in Australia, New Zealand, England and the USA.
Alabaster Box consists of Naarah Seagrott on lead vocals, Matt Smallbone on bass/backing vocals, Brett Seagrott on guitars, Sam Hatch on guitars/backing vocals, Joshua Brown on keys and Matthew Swan on drums.
Australian Radio Chart Highlights
Alabaster Box’s first two radio singles of 2004: ’Love on the Radio’ and ‘There’s Hope’, were the most played songs on Christian radio in Australia. For much of 2004 and 2005, Alabaster Box was in the top three ‘most played artists’ in the country and has held down the number one spot for highest independent album sales.
Spiritual History
Five out of six members of Alabaster Box are Pastor’s kids. Their respective upbringings have instilled in the band a deep love for the church. Their passion for introducing people to Jesus through their ministry is evident by their commitment to touring over 200 shows per year along with their willingness to visit places oven overlooked by their contemporaries.
