Overview

Fresh Fuel for Running the Good Race.
At times we all feel as if we can't go on. Our dreams have faded or crashed. We wake up one day and realize we're just plodding through life. We've embraced life, but still we wonder what "might have been?" What happened to our hopes and plans for stronger relationships, greater career success, and lasting achievements? Why have we settled for what" is" instead of striving for what "could be"?
When these conditions or other dilemmas leave you feeling trapped, you are an ideal candidate for one of life's great surprises-a "second wind."
God wishes to give you such dramatic turnarounds in many areas of life. Just when you think you can't go on, you can tap into the wellspring of God's power and allow him to give your life a "jump start." With this newly discovered energy, you can stop your plodding and once again run the race of life with a spirit of exhilaration and joyous abandon.

Description:

Anyone who has worked hard, exercised hard, or pushed his or her physical limits knows what it’s like to get a “second wind.” Readers may have experienced it as a burst of energy or as a reserve of strength they didn’t know they had, as a decrease in physical pain or the rush of a “runner’s high.” In any case, they were given a fresh desire and a renewed ability to push forward.

A second wind is great for those who are running a physical race. It’s even better for people running the greatest marathon of all: life. Everyone has faced dreams that have faded or crashed. Everyone wonders occasionally what life might have held. Everyone gets exhausted or beaten down by life. That’s why everyone, at some point or another, needs a second wind.

No matter what readers face—disappointment or missed opportunities, boredom or heartache—authors Bill Butterworth and Dean Merrill will show how God can reenergize them and restore their ability to run the race of life with passion and joy. Readers will also learn how with this newly discovered energy, they can stop their plodding and once again run the race of life with a spirit of exhilaration and joyous abandon.

This powerful book includes questions for personal or group study.
