BiographyA writer, counselor and speaker, John Eldredge's writings are quickly becoming "classics" for a new generation of readers. As co-author of The Sacred Romance and author of The Journey of Desire, The Sacred Romance Workbook, Wild at Heart, and the newly release Wild at Heart Field Manual, John's books continue to receive positive and at times, overwhelming response in the CBA and ABA markets alike.
John received his undergraduate degree in Theatre from California Polytechnic University (Pomona) and his MA in Biblical Counseling from Colorado Christian University under the direction of Drs. Larry Crabb and Dan Allender. In addition to his private counseling practice, John was a member of the staff at Focus on the Family for twelve years, most recently serving as Senior Fellow for Christian Worldview Studies at the Focus on the Family Institute-a one-semester program for undergraduates located at the Focus campus in Colorado Springs.
John left Focus in July of 2000 to launch Ransomed Heart™ Ministries, a non-profit devoted to furthering the message of The Sacred Romance. As a speaker, John travels extensively in the U.S. and abroad.
John lives in Colorado Springs with his wife, Stasi, and their three sons. He loves living in Colorado so he can pursue his other passions, including fly fishing, mountain climbing, and exploring the Waters of the West in his canoe.
