Web/Email Content Specialist (part-time)

Support the ongoing content updates of all key Parable websites including Parable.com and intranet/extranet sites. Implement designs for outgoing e-mails to stores, customers, clients, and vendors.

Principal duties

Work with the Online Merchandiser with input from Design department and other staff. Use internal tools and other applications to implement content updates on all Parable websites; implement designs for e-mails in HTML and support the actual mailing process for e-mail to stores, customers, clients and vendors; support the back-end business processes related to commerce site merchandising, marketing, and customer support.

Job requirements

Education: High school diploma or its equivalent; college level degree preferred.

Experience: Experience working with HTML, imaging, document management and customer service. Experience building and maintaining website layouts and content. Experience with Adobe Photoshop or Fireworks a plus. Retail experience, especially books or gifts a plus.

Skills: Strong teamwork skills and the ability to oversee a variety of projects with a focus on deadlines. Ability to write standards-compliant HTML by hand. Ability to write CSS for both style and layout. JavaScript and general programming knowledge a plus. Must be able to make decisions, identify problems and develop practical solutions and keep supervisor aware of workload issues, problems, upcoming deadlines etc. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including a thorough knowledge and use of English grammar, spelling and punctuation. Ability to use Microsoft Outlook and Word.
